DO I LIKE THIS OR I DON'T KNOW I LIKE WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE BUT THE BACKGROUND? IDK MAN
But who cares, it's finished! And what's important is, I had fun with it. I'm just glad I was able to finally work on it in between all the work. I've been working on weekends and holidays recently, and very late as well, because of the productions. We've already had five performances, I can't believe it went so fast. xD Sure, the play is only 50 minutes, but I've worked so hard on that stage, it's weird that it goes by so fast.
'Kay, more Submas like I promised, and this isn't the end of it. I still have a pairing picture to finish as well as other stuff I'd like to do. I think this is the first time I've made so many pictures dedicated to one fandom in such a short time. Durarara!! was one thing, but I made a lot of random drawings that weren't all that good, and there was quite some time in between. Now these two, I enjoy drawing. I'm not exactly a part of the fandom, and I will never understand shipping names. I just ship them and draw them and love them, then everyone else can argue about trifles in their own corners. Simply farting on Tumblr will offend people anyway, and I'm sure doing so would make me an ableist in any case.
wow this is truly amazing- not even just the way you drew the characters (which is an awesome mix of badass, creepy and intimidating all rolled into one- i will explain this later) but even the background is awesome. A lot of detail went into this- and I love the way you put screens in the foreground, producing a sort of panaramic (or however you spell it) view! It's like watching a world come to life the folds in the clothes also convey a sense of movement~ -Okay now on the twins here, I've seen how nintendo draws them and they generally look pretty creepy and cartoonish, but the way you drew them makes them appear more realistic and defined. Especially with the shadows on the face and the use of the differing facial expressions that match their personalities. -One more thing I must comment on is your excellent layout- the twins are ideally symmetrical, but the placement of the screens in the background (and the fact that the lines are of varied sizes and zig-zagged) keeps my eyes jumping around the scene. A perfect amount of space and movement. -A way i think you could improve this is an advanced use of shading, by this I mean adding a shadow, whether it be a circle on the floor or some barely noticed form on the walls, I think this would have both enhanced the presence of depth you have in their poses and enhanced the background by the characters' feet- which currently has some shadow but then fades into light again. overall this is an excellent piece of art!
They look really great! I really love the eyes. As far as the background goes, I think it looks really nice. It kind of gives the vibe of both a subway and some kind of air ride. It's whimsical and yet adds to the intensity of the overall picture. When I tilted my laptop screen to get a better look I noticed even more really subtle details in the clothes and parts of the background. The transparent parts really add to the overall look of the picture...sort of futuristic in a way. I can tell you worked hard on it, very nice c:
just saw the episode with these twins in it, and the first thing i thought was that i wanted their coats and hats. cool drawing really defines them both
