I absolutely ADORE this style, myself. It's so much fun. So seeing you do some artwork like this makes me very happy.
The entire head looks amazing. His hat, eyes, mouth, ear, hair....ALL of it. :'D
I do so love the particular way you messed with the line weighting. The solid-black shading is also really nice, especially how it melts right into the lines. It's very dynamic and comic-panel-ish. Which I'm sure was your goal anyway, so.....you did a good job. ^^
